From chaos to quiet
You've tried the systems. The planner, the big weekend blitz, the app. They work for about nine days.
The problem isn't discipline. Standard systems assume you'll be consistent — and your capacity moves, not because you're failing but because that's how your brain works. So you need one built around that, instead of one that breaks the first time you have a bad day.
The ADHD Operating System is a 40-page workbook we wrote for our own household. It runs in four parts.
1. The 28-Day Reset — the house
A day-by-day plan for clearing the physical noise, one small win at a time. No weekend blitz, no before-and-afters. With a 28-day scoreboard, and a rule that a bad day stays a blank circle rather than a failure.
2. The Engine Room — the adult
The daily systems, for when the house is clear and your head still isn't.
The Executive Menu — a pre-set list to pick from on the days deciding anything feels impossible
The Strategic Rhythm — a day shaped around energy instead of hours
The Healthy Dopamine Map — telling the fuel that steadies you from the fuel that leaves you flat
The Un-Masking Map — a protocol for walking through your own front door, when the mask has to come off on purpose
The Bedtime Scaries Map — closing the fifty open tabs so you can actually sleep
3. Mission HQ — the children
The whole system again, in a version your kids can run. Same language, same code words, so nobody's translating between two sets of rules.
4. System Patches — the bad days
Safe Mode, for when there's nothing left. The Sunday Sync. And the Code Word Map — one word each for I'm in deep focus, I'm overloaded, I'm at zero, and I'm back — so your family can hear where you are before anyone burns out.
That last one is the part we'd point you to first.
Who wrote it
I built this for my family. My husband spent 25 years as a professional chef before being diagnosed with ADHD; my daughter needed the same things in a version she could use. Nothing worked for them both at once, so I made something that did.
Every page has been used in our house, on a bad week.
We're writing about the rest of it as we go — the diagnosis, the career change, what's working and what isn't.
Read about it in our ADHD Blog.
