Our Story
The Kitchen Years
For years our lives were measured in gruelling service shifts. My husband spent 25 years as a professional chef, pushing an undiagnosed brain through 60-hour weeks in the high-heat, high-noise hustle of the professional kitchen. Plenty of adrenaline.
Zero Sanctuary.
we lived for the days off and were too exhausted to use them. Eventually we stopped calling it tiring and admitted what it was - unsustainable. Not just for him, but for a whole neurodivergent family arranged around a rota nobody could keep up with.
January 2026
We packed up the car and drove to the Highlands, to a lodge at the foot of Ben Nevis. One week with no shifts in it, to work out what to do next.
We chose Scotland because my husband is Scottish and our children are half of it - those mountains are part of their DNA. We went looking for the kind of stubborness it takes to change your entire life, and found it somewhere between the mist of the cold.
That week is where Eco & Snug started. Snug being the thing we were driving towards: The calm house at the end of it.
We came back with two reasons to change everything.
We didn't want our daughter growing up trying to fit into the world that didn't understand her. We wanted to build one that did.
And after 25 years of surviving someone else's kitchen, we wanted him to have the life he didn't get to have.
He hung up his chef whites.
What we've made since
Everything we sell, we built ourselves first - because we needed it and couldn't find it.
The ADHD Operating System - The 28 Day Reset and ADHD Management System we wrote to get our house and our heads back. We were using it while we were still in the middle of it.
ADHD Meal Planner & Safe Foods - a recipe app for the days when deciding what to eat is the hardest part of eating. Built by a chef, for the brain that made the kitchen so hard in the first place.
How we work
we're two people, in Kent, building this around a family and learning as we go.
We're not here everyday. We built this because we'd already run ourselves into the ground once, and a business about protecting your capacity shouldn't be run at the cost of ours. So we make things when there's something worth making. The rest of the time we're living the life we're wrting about.
