From Paper to Play: Building the Digital Engine of Our Sanctuary

From Paper to Play: Building the Digital Engine of Our Sanctuary

If you read our last post, Season 2: The Final Reset, you know we are in the middle of clearing the signal. We are stripping away the static, leaving behind the heat and chaos of 25 years in professional kitchens, and resetting our physical and mental health.

When the ADHD diagnosis arrived at age 38, it answered a lifetime of questions. But it also left us with a massive project: how do we rebuild a life that actually works for a neurodivergent brain? We started with a plan. We spent months figuring out the path, took that reset holiday to Scotland in January, and decided to hand in the notice. It was time to build a digital sanctuary.

To survive the transition, we created The Sanctuary Operating System. It became our manual, a 39-page PDF that detailed exactly how to keep our home and our minds regulated. It had everything:

  • The Hardware: A 28-Day Reset to clear the physical static and remove visual triggers.

  • The Adult Software: Executive Menus and Unmasking Protocols to manage the burnout of low battery days.

  • Mission Headquarters: A parallel track so our daughter could use the exact same family language to regulate after a long school day.

We proved the system works. It is the reason we have survived the unpredictability of emergency appendix surgeries and massive life pivots over the last few months.

But there was one glaring issue: A 39-page PDF is heavy. For an ADHD brain already running on empty, remembering to open a document, check a box, or read a protocol can feel like just another chore. We didn't want to just give people another list of things to fail at.

So, The Snug Developer went to work. We are taking the entire 39-page survival guide and porting it into a gamified app.

We are turning the manual into a digital world where you don't work to manage your home. We are in the Blueprints stage and plan to share behind the scenes of the journey and how we plan to gamify it.

We are taking this one season at a time. The physical clean-up, the health reset, and now, the digital build.

The Sanctuary OS app is officially in production. It is the system we used to transition between the 38 years spent in the weeds to the structured, calm sanctuary we are building.

If you want to be the first to step into the digital sanctuary, you can join the Founders Waitlist. Every person who joins, every stream of our music, and every physical tool you pick up from our shop lays another brick for the ultimate goal: the real-life Lodge.

The static is clearing. The code is being written. The map is almost ready.
