Retiring as the Family Executive Function

The Snug Home & The Sanctuary Shop

The reset holiday is over. We are back home in Kent, standing on our land that will eventually hold our dream 3 bedroom Twin Lodge Sanctuary. Before the Lodge comes labour.
For four years, I’ve been the one with the map, constantly looking for a way out of the chaos.
I’ve spent every single day trying to find a path to a life that makes sense, where things are calm and my daughter has a routine she can rely on. But for four years, I’ve been building on sand. Every time I tried to set a schedule, it fell apart. I was the "boring" one, the "mean" one, the one doing 100% of the mental heavy lifting while my husband was mentally gone—trapped in the heat and noise of a commercial kitchen. Now that our daughter is at school, she barely sees him. He misses the weekends. He misses the moments that matter. He was fighting a war in his own head he didn't even have a name for.

Then we got the diagnosis: ADHD.
Suddenly, the last four years made sense. Watching him look at our daughter and see his younger self—seeing that same "chaos" in her eyes—it broke him. He needs out of that kitchen. He needs peace. And I?
I am retiring as the Family Executive Function
I am stepping away from the mental load of managing everyone else's "how, when and where." I am no longer just the household CEO; I am the creator of The Snug Home and the curator of The Sanctuary Shop.

The Roadmap to the Sanctuary
The Reset Stage. We aren’t in the "Spring Clean" yet. We are in the Reset. This is the raw, gritty work of clearing the old to make room for the new.
The Container Transformation - We are clearing the "prep kitchen" junk out of our shipping container to create three dedicated spaces:
-
A laundry and storage area for me (to finally get the house under control).
-
A play room for the kids.
-
A dev office for him.
Once the kitchen equipment is sold and the floor is clear, we start the build—together.
The Build: This isn't just about walls; it's about skills. I'm helping him learn the Unity modules he needs so that when he walks out if that kitchen for the last time on March 2nd, he is ready to start building. He'll be creating the Four Seasonal Clean-Up Games, while I grow the Snug Home Brand and The Sanctuary Shop.
The Sanctuary Shop will follow the same path as ECO Empire Studios - It will be curated to mirror our one-year clean up journey.

The Reset- To help others finding their way out of the fog, I am launching the PDF Schedule and Reset Manifest. This is the same system I am using to navigate our 28 days. Its the bridge that leads us out of the kitchen heat and into our coding studio. This isn't just a blog its a blueprint for a different life.
Seasonal - Every season, the shop will drop a new collection of items designed to turn your house into a sanctuary, aligning with the release of our clean-up games.
Spring (April): Forest Clean Up - Grounding & New Growth
Items to help "re root" the brain after a long winter.
Summer (August): Ocean Clean Up - Clarity & Sensory Cooling
Tools to manage overstimulation and heat.
Autumn (November): City Clean Up - Structure & Reclaiming Space
Systems to combat the chaos of a busy world
Winter (January): Arctic Clean Up - The Reset & Reflection
Essentials for the deep "quiet" phase.
We are cleaning up our lives one season at a time, until we reach winter again - the time of the Reset.

The Twin Lodge Sanctuary is a 5 year goal, but the "Snug" starts now. It starts with a manifesto, a container and a family finally moving in the same direction.
